Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, met today (April 26) in Muscat with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, where they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.
According to Oman News Agency, both sides emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in reducing tensions and reaching political solutions. The Sultan of Oman also stressed the need to minimize the impact of regional crises on people.
Araghchi is on a regional tour that began on Friday (April 24) and is expected to travel to Russia after visiting Pakistan and Oman.
During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation for Oman’s role in supporting dialogue and regional stability. This is described as his first visit to Gulf countries since the recent escalation of tensions in the region.
