Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, rejecting the Pentagon’s report on the cost of the war with Iran, said that the United States has so far spent $100 billion directly in the war against Iran.
Araghchi wrote on X yesterday: “The Pentagon is lying. Netanyahu’s gamble has directly cost America $100b so far, four times what is claimed.”
He added that the indirect costs of this war for American taxpayers are “far higher” and that “monthly bill for each American household is $500 and rising fast.”
Araghchi said that the “Israel First” policy has always meant “America Last.”
Earlier, Jules Hurst, a senior Pentagon financial official, stated that the U.S. war against Iran has so far cost $25 billion. He told lawmakers on the House Armed Services Committee that the majority of this money had been spent on ammunition.
