The Pakistan Army said in a statement that it killed 22 members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a clash in the Khyber area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to the statement, the militants were killed on April 21 in an intelligence-based operation.
The army added that TTP militants resorted to “indiscriminate firing” out of fear of arrest, resulting in the death of a 10-year-old child.
The statement also alleged that the militants were supported by India and were involved in multiple “terrorist” activities in Khyber.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered and seized from the killed militants.
The Pakistan Army said clearance operations are ongoing in the area, and its forces will continue to act under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign to eliminate terrorism backed from abroad.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is Pakistan’s most insecure province. According to the army’s spokesperson, 1,811 “terrorist” incidents were recorded in the province in 2025.
Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, spokesperson for the Pakistan Army, said that a total of 5,397 “terrorist” incidents were recorded across Pakistan last year.
