The President of the United States told Pakistan’s Army Chief, Asim Munir, that he would consider Munir’s advice that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is an obstacle to peace talks with Iran.
Reuters, citing a Pakistani security source, reported that Donald Trump raised the issue during a phone call with Munir.
Iran has also indirectly referred to ending the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz as a precondition for holding negotiations.
While the U.S. president said yesterday that an American delegation would arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday night, Iran has stated that it has no plans yet to participate in the next round of talks with the United States.
