Turkish authorities said that 16 people were injured in a shooting at a school in the province of Şanlıurfa on Tuesday morning.
The attacker later died by suicide.
According to Turkish media reports, the gunman entered the Siverek Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School with a firearm and opened fire indiscriminately in the schoolyard before entering the building, causing panic among students and staff.
Şanlıurfa Governor Hasan Şıldak said the injured include four teachers, 10 students, one police officer, and one service worker. He added that no fatalities were reported and an investigation has been launched.
Four of the injured are in moderate condition and were transferred to hospitals in the provincial center of Şanlıurfa. The remaining 12 are being treated at the state hospital in Siverek, where the incident occurred.
