Pakistan’s military announced this morning that its forces have killed 22 fighters from Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the statement, security forces conducted an operation in Bannu on December 3 based on received intelligence, during which the militants were killed.
The army said Pakistani security personnel clashed with TTP members during the operation.
No information was provided about possible Pakistani military casualties.
The army added that it will continue clearance operations to eliminate other militants allegedly “backed by India.”
It stated that the “Azm-e-Istehkam” campaign will proceed with full intensity to eradicate what it described as “externally supported terrorism.”
Pakistan also claims that the TTP is supported by both the Taliban and India.
