According to CNN, the suspect in the shooting during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner has been identified as a teacher and video game developer from California.
The report says that 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen, a resident of Torrance in the suburbs of Los Angeles, was arrested near the venue of the event, which was attended by Donald Trump and several officials.
Based on published information, he holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in computer science from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
The annual event, held in Washington with the participation of journalists and senior political officials, is considered one of the major media gatherings in the United States.
