The World Health Organization reported that 105,094 cases of pneumonia and 198 related deaths were recorded in Afghanistan in March.
According to the report, 157,046 pneumonia cases and 313 deaths were recorded in February.
The WHO said that 6,308 cases of acute watery diarrhea and one related death were recorded in March, compared to 5,968 cases and three deaths in February.
Although no deaths from dengue fever were reported in March, 115 suspected cases were recorded across the country, down from 173 in February.
The WHO said 746 malaria cases were recorded in March, marking a 25% increase compared to 597 cases in February. No malaria-related deaths have been reported so far this year.
Measles remained a deadly disease, claiming 11 lives in March and 16 in the previous month. A total of 81 confirmed COVID-19 cases were also reported.
In March, 59 suspected cases of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever and six related deaths were recorded, representing a 59.5% increase compared to 37 cases and two deaths in February.
The WHO said it distributed more than 200 essential health kits across Afghanistan last month, reaching a total of 810,000 people.
