Taliban Interior Ministry said seven people were killed and 13 others injured in an attack by unidentified armed men in Injil district of Herat province.
Ministry spokesman Abdul Mateen Qani stressed that the figures are preliminary and further details will be released later.
He said the incident took place this afternoon near a recreational site, where attackers opened fire on civilians.
Qani added that people usually gather at the site on Fridays.
