The Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture has claimed that during the Eid holidays—which coincided with Nowruz—around 2.3 million people visited Afghanistan’s recreational areas and natural attractions.

Khabib Ghufran, the ministry’s spokesperson, said that this figure represents a significant increase compared to previous years and reflects the “growth and strengthening of tourism.”

Officials from the Taliban’s information and culture departments stated that, with the cooperation and efforts of the group’s security agencies, people travelled to various parts of the country with complete safety during Eid al-Fitr.

They also emphasized the public’s cooperation in protecting the environment, maintaining cleanliness in public spaces, and preserving tourist attractions.

Ghufran added that the Ministry of Information and Culture is working to develop the tourism industry in Afghanistan and provide more facilities and conveniences for tourists.
