Uzbekistan’s State Security Service has announced that the country’s forces discovered and seized 72.3 kilograms of drugs smuggled from Afghanistan.
The drugs, which were hidden in a cargo truck, were intercepted near the Afghanistan border.
In a statement, Uzbekistan’s State Security Service said that during an inspection, the forces discovered that the truck was reportedly carrying potatoes. After a thorough examination of the shipment, it was found that 222 pieces of hashish, shaped like potatoes, were hidden among the cargo.
According to preliminary information, the shipment was intended to be transported to Russia.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
