Taliban Supreme Court announced yesterday that the group’s forces flogged one woman and one man in Kabul on March 17 and 18.
According to a statement from the Taliban court, the individuals were sentenced to one year and one-and-a-half years in prison, as well as 39 lashes, on charges of “illicit relations” and “running away from home.”
The flogging sentence was carried out after approval by the Taliban Supreme Court.
It is noteworthy that during Ramadan, the Taliban did not stop the implementation of corporal punishments; rather, a relative increase in such punishments has been observed.
Findings by Deeyar TV show that the Taliban has flogged 1,137 people across the country since March 2025.
These figures have been compiled from statements by the Taliban Supreme Court and may not reflect the actual numbers.
