Rohullah Latifi, a spokesperson for Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, reported that Iran exported $1.66 billion worth of goods to Afghanistan during first eight months of 2025. Afghanistan now ranks as the fifth-largest destination for Iranian exports.
Latifi noted that Iran exported to 142 countries in total during this period, with the overall export value reaching $36.997 billion. Total trade volume for Iran in these eight months stood at $76.537 billion.
China led Iran’s exports with $9.255 billion, followed by Iraq at $6.719 billion, the United Arab Emirates at $5.216 billion, and Turkey at $4.393 billion. Afghanistan ranks just behind these nations.
Despite being a key market for Iranian goods, Afghanistan does not appear among Iran’s top five exporters in terms of imports to Iran.
