Hollywood actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, died from stab wounds.
American media outlets reported that the couple’s bodies were discovered yesterday at their home in Los Angeles.
U.S. police had earlier, without disclosing identities, announced the discovery of two bodies at the Reiners’ residence in the Brentwood neighborhood.
Rob Reiner was the son of Carl Reiner, the legendary American comedian and writer, who was a pioneer of television comedy in the 1950s.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Rob Reiner appeared in minor roles on television programs during the 1960s. He went on to direct classic films such as The Princess Bride and This Is Spinal Tap.
He was also a co-founder of Castle Rock Entertainment, a production company responsible for dozens of films, including When Harry Met Sally… and A Few Good Men.
Reiner was also a prominent political activist, known for his support of liberal ideals and the Democratic Party.
