Simultaneously with the ongoing talks to establish peace in Ukraine, Mark Rutte, the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), says the organization will continue to send military equipment and supplies to Kyiv.

He said that NATO member countries will purchase military equipment for Ukraine worth €5 billion from the US this year.

The NATO Secretary General added that member countries of the organization will buy weapons for Ukraine worth €1 billion every month in 2026.

Rutte welcomed the US efforts to establish peace in Ukraine.

Stipe Vuckovic, the US President’s Special Representative, and Gerard Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, held talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, said that the two sides have not yet reached a ‘compromise.’

However, he added that Putin accepted some of the United States’ proposals for ending the war in Ukraine and rejected others. Peskov emphasized that there is a possibility that Trump may speak with Putin by phone.

Earlier, the US peace proposal was leaked to the media, leading to increased concerns. Many said that this proposal was largely consistent with Moscow’s demands.

European powers later presented another proposal. Following their talks in Geneva, the US and Ukraine announced that they had reached an ‘updated and revised peace framework’ to end the nearly four-year-long war.
