Mohammad Nasim Badri, spokesperson for the Taliban’s security command in Farah, says that 10 Afghan citizens were killed in a shooting by Iranian soldiers.
Badri said today Tuesday that Iranian soldiers had opened fire on a number of Farah residents who intended to enter Iran illegally via the Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi port.
According to the Taliban’s security command in Farah, in addition to the killing of the aforementioned individuals, two people have gone missing in this incident.
Iranian forces had previously opened fire on Afghan citizens inside the territory of that country.
The human rights organization Haalvash previously reported that on November 14th, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps IRGC (Sepah-e-Pasdaran) forces and border guards in Saravan targeted several groups of Afghan citizens with gunfire.
The report stated that at least 7 people were killed and several others were injured in these shootings.
According to the report, the Saravan border has witnessed an increase in shootings, ambushes, and violent confrontations against migrants in recent months, and this trend has created widespread concerns about serious violations of the human rights of migrants.
The Iranian government has initiated the process of expelling Afghan migrants, but despite this, a number of the country’s citizens resort to illegal migration, particularly due to severe restrictions on the issuance of visas.
