Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s interior minister, condemned what he described as “unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij (TTP)” along the Durand Line.
He praised the Pakistani army for its “swift and decisive response to the enemy,” saying timely action had “foiled the enemy’s malicious plans and objectives.”
Naqvi commended the capabilities of Pakistan’s forces, saying they are fully prepared to deliver a firm response to any “enemy aggression.”
In recent days, Taliban and Pakistani forces have again exchanged fire along the Durand Line. As a result of the clashes, at least seven people were killed and around 80 others wounded in Kunar province.
The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said it has documented dozens of casualties in Kunar.
Sayed Jamaluddin Afghani University was among the sites targeted, although Pakistan denied responsibility for the attack on the educational institution.
