Uzbekistan’s State Security Service said 190.8 kilograms of hashish were discovered and seized from a truck that had entered the country from Afghanistan. The drugs were concealed inside cooking pots.
In a statement, the agency said its forces, in cooperation with border troops and customs officials in Surxondaryo Region, were able to uncover the shipment.
The drugs were hidden in a truck driven by an Uzbek citizen.
Inspections showed the truck was carrying 750 cooking pots, 210 of which had hashish secretly concealed inside.
Investigations into the case are ongoing.
Uzbekistan has previously reported thwarting multiple attempts to smuggle drugs from Afghanistan into the country.
