The Freedom Front said in a statement that it carried out an attack on Taliban forces in Kunduz on Thursday night, killing two of them.
According to the statement, the attack took place at around 7 p.m. on the Kunduz–Khanabad road and targeted a Ranger vehicle carrying Taliban fighters.
The group said another Taliban member was wounded in the incident.
The Freedom Front had paused attacks against the Taliban during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. This marks the group’s first claimed attack in just over a month.
Although the group says it operates in several provinces across Afghanistan, most of its claimed activities are concentrated in Kabul, Kunduz, Takhar, and Faryab.
As in the past, the Taliban has not responded to the claim.
