Muhibullah Hamas, the Taliban’s security commander in Nangarhar, said that public satisfaction is the basis for the survival and strengthening of the group’s regime, adding that if the people are unhappy, “God will also be displeased.”
It is worth noting that, according to some views, Taliban governance over the past nearly five years has increased public dissatisfaction with the group.
Hamas said during a meeting with security commanders from all 22 districts of Nangarhar and the heads of nine security zones in the city of Jalalabad that officials must be well-behaved, patient, and gentle, strengthen their relations with the public, and address people’s problems in a timely manner.
The Taliban’s security command spokesperson in Nangarhar quoted Hamas as saying that the Taliban regime came to power as a result of “countless sacrifices” and claimed that it is supported by the “entire Muslim ummah.”
The Taliban security commander in Nangarhar said that protecting the regime is not possible through force and weapons alone, but also requires sincerity, devotion, justice, and public service.
He described the modern world as a “period of trials and sedition” and said that all Taliban officials must reform their conduct, avoid deviation, and advise one another toward righteousness.
