Arab News, quoting Pakistani security officials, reports that militants attacked the city of Panjgur in Balochistan province on Sunday night, with the assault lasting about three hours.
According to the report, five civilians were killed during the attacks, and security forces, pursuing the assailants, killed six of them.
The report added that the targets of the attacks were the homes of “pro-government” tribes in Panjgur.
Balochistan has long witnessed an armed insurgency that has intensified significantly in recent years. In the region, separatist militants frequently target security forces and others.
Earlier in March, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry announced it would deploy 3,000 troops to the province to strengthen security and restore stability in Balochistan.
