Several international organizations, at a meeting of the Afghanistan Working Group of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states, emphasized the need to continue monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and supporting the country’s peaceful processes.

Representatives from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the Commonwealth of Independent States’ Counterterrorism Analysis Center attended the meeting.

Participants discussed the current situation in Afghanistan and highlighted potential risks and threats emanating from the country.

They also emphasized the continued need for humanitarian and economic support for the Afghan people by CSTO member states.

The 42nd meeting of the Afghanistan Working Group of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers was held today (Saturday, December 23).

The session was attended by representatives from the CSTO Secretariat, delegations from member states, and a representative from the International Committee of the Red Cross. By the end of the meeting, the Working Group’s program for the first six months of 2026 was approved.
