It may seem like a lot, but it was only two percent of what we had built.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump said he rebuilt the U.S. military during his first term in office, but did not know that during his second term \u201che would use this much of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He described the abandonment of U.S. military equipment in Afghanistan as \u201csad\u201d and said it should never have happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. president stressed: \u201cWe wanted to leave. We were supposed to leave easily. We could have won\u2026 [We intended] to leave with great pride.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since returning to the White House, Trump has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has also ordered the Pentagon to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the withdrawal, the results of which are expected to be released publicly soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trump had previously said the United States should not have abandoned Bagram Air Base and had even raised the idea of retaking the base.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Trump, speaking at a public event, once again criticized the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, saying the United States left behind two percent of its military equipment in the country.
