Koofi, who served as deputy speaker of the Afghan parliament during the republic era, has been living abroad since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is a women\u2019s rights activist and regularly participates in international meetings on Afghanistan, particularly on the country\u2019s human rights situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Koofi has called for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan that respects the rights of all citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union maintains a presence in Afghanistan and is active in humanitarian and political affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
