Statistics from the Taliban’s High Commission for Refugee Affairs show that the Pakistani government deported 253,088 Afghan migrants between November 2nd and December 2nd<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These individuals entered the country through the Torkham, Spin Boldak, and Bahramcha crossings, which are only open to Afghan migrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday alone, 5,092 Afghan migrants were forcibly returned from Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process of deporting Afghan migrants from Pakistan began in 2023, when accusations against these migrants intensified, and they were mainly introduced as ‘criminals,’ ‘smugglers,’ and ‘terrorists.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Decades of war and instability sent millions of Afghan citizens to Iran and Pakistan. Initially, these two countries welcomed the newly arrived migrants, referring to them as ‘religious brothers,’ but in recent years, suspicions towards them have increased, and the process of their expulsion has been put on the agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the United Nations, over 4.5 million Afghan migrants have returned from these two countries from September 2023 to September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The governments of Iran and Pakistan have treated some Afghan migrants inappropriately and even beaten them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Taliban has repeatedly raised its voice in protest regarding this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, according to Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan, the country is not a safe place for the return of migrants. He and international organizations have repeatedly called for a halt to the deportation of Afghan migrants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only have countries not backed down from their stance regarding Afghan migrants, but new countries have also joined this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, European countries and the US intend to deport a large number of Afghan migrants.
