{"id":31084,"date":"2025-09-29T10:00:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T05:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/deeyartelevision.com\/en\/?p=31084"},"modified":"2025-12-01T17:26:49","modified_gmt":"2025-12-01T12:56:49","slug":"%d8%b3%db%8c%d8%a7%d8%b3%d8%aa%d9%85%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1-%d8%a8%d9%86%da%af%d9%84%d8%a7%d8%af%db%8c%d8%b4%db%8c-%d9%be%d8%b3-%d8%a7%d8%b2-%d8%b3%d9%81%d8%b1-%d8%a8%d9%87-%da%a9%d8%a7%d8%a8","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/deeyartelevision.com\/en\/31084\/","title":{"rendered":"Taliban to Lift Girls\u2019 Education Ban \u201cSoon,\u201d Says Bangladeshi Cleric"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Mamunul Haque, a religious scholar and head of Bangladesh\u2019s \u201cMajlis-e-Khilafat\u201d party\u2014who recently visited Kabul with six other Bangladeshi clerics\u2014says the Taliban assured them that the ban on girls\u2019 education will soon be lifted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This delegation, during its eight-day trip beginning on 16 September, met several senior Taliban officials, including the group\u2019s acting foreign minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an interview with the Bangladeshi newspaper <em>Prothom Alo<\/em>, Haque said he observed many \u201ccommendable\u201d things in Afghanistan, but the only objectionable issue was women\u2019s education. Quoting Taliban officials, he claimed that Afghanistan\u2019s previous educational system had become \u201cun-Islamic\u201d and the Taliban are working to \u201creform\u201d it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, the Taliban aim to abolish co-education and create separate learning environments for boys and girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haque said the Bangladeshi delegation raised the education issue with several Taliban ministries, including the foreign ministry, as well as the group\u2019s chief justice. He said the Taliban promised that \u201cgirls will soon be allowed to continue their studies beyond grade six,\u201d adding that officials told them, \u201cWe are working quickly on this, and you will hear good news.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The delegation also met Abdul Latif Mansoor (Minister of Energy and Water), Abdul Manan Omari (Minister of Labor and Social Affairs), and Ali Ahmad (Deputy Minister for the Promotion of Virtue).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Meeting With the Taliban Foreign Minister<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Haque, the Taliban foreign minister told the delegation that the group has representatives in all Arab countries except Kuwait. He added that the Taliban have formally requested Bangladesh to send a diplomat to Kabul, but Dhaka has not yet responded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haque said the Taliban asked the delegation to convey the issue of establishing relations to Bangladesh\u2019s foreign ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cReligious Scholars Can Run a Country\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Haque said the most striking observation for the delegation was that \u201cthose with religious training were fully capable of running a country.\u201d According to him, \u201cPeople with only religious education were managing all ministries and governing the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also claimed that although many Afghans possess weapons, \u201cthere is no war or theft.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haque said that despite sanctions, Afghanistan continues to function through customs revenue and mineral resources. He quoted Taliban officials saying the group provides monthly assistance to 800,000 families, including families of former Afghan government soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cOver 50% of Cases Resolved Without Lawyers\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Haque stated that in the Taliban judicial system, having a lawyer is \u201cnot mandatory,\u201d but defendants may hire one if they choose. In most cases, he said, plaintiffs and defendants represent themselves. \u201cMore than 50% of cases are resolved without lawyers. This was very interesting for us,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u201cWe Don\u2019t Need a Taliban-Style Government in Bangladesh\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite expressing admiration for aspects of Taliban governance, the head of Bangladesh\u2019s Majlis-e-Khilafat party said:<br>\u201cWe do not need a Taliban-style government in Bangladesh.
